Another sonnet. ^^; Written some time after the first for no good reason. [Yes, I'm the kind of person who sits around writing sonnets for no good reason and relaxation. Sonnets are just so...I wouldn't say easy, but easier...to write. At least, than villanelles...then again, just about anything is easier than a villanelle.] Awkward in places, but I do like the conclusion.
Technical Notes : Once more, Hanagata's POV, towards Fujima, and after the defeat by Shohoku.
'Ah, so naive I was...'
by Djinn
Ah, so naive I was, until that day;
So sure that all would always turn out right.
And trusting all the words you'd always say,
Believed I so profoundly in our might.
And just as I believed you, I beseeched
Your grace, so earnestly, to trust me true.
But in the mean, where words and actions meet,
I found, too late, my own strength would not do.
It was my fault, I'd full admit amidst
These careless tears I'd ne'er thought I'd shed,
But silent this I keep: to see you grieve
Cuts deeper than the dagger of regret.
For worse yet, than the dark wound of defeat -
The taste of heartbreak, sharp and bittersweet.
END
Simple, innit? ^^;;
